Bonito, a small city in the Federal State of Mato Grosso do Sul in western Brazil, is located right in the middle of the mountain area Bodoquna. Due to the incredible blue colour of rivers and springs this region is called the Caribbean of the mid-west. The reason for this crystal clear water is that the ground is very rich in lime. There a many caves and waterfalls which pose great attraction to visitors of this region.The Grotte of the blue lake is highly recommendable. Another highlight is snorkelling in these beautiful rivers, as well as a boat trip on the olho d'agua all the way to its end at the Rio da Prata. There, it is possible to go for a dive in these water with an great variety of colourful fish.
